Student Affairs  The mission of the VATA Student Affairs Committee is to educate high school athletic training students from across the Rio Grande Valley about sports-injuries and health related topics vital to his/her growth in the athletic training profession. The student affairs committee coordinates high school scholarships, undergraduate scholarship, athletic training camp grant, academic awards, and state qualifier student trainer workshop for student athletic trainers of the Rio Grande Valley.
VATA Student Members are encouraged to continue in the field post-secondary and/or post-undergraduate level, and are informed about the various career opportunities in athletic training. All RGV Athletic Training Students are encouraged to participate in VATA activities like the Gridiron Heroes Fill the Helmet Fundraiser during football playoffs, Endinburg David Chavana 10K VATA water station, VATA Athletic Trainers Trot 5K, the VATA Student Trainer Workshop, and to apply for a VATA scholarship if they are eligible.
