Continuing Education Hours

The Valley Athletic Trainers Association (BOC AP#: P2724) is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing education to Certified Athletic Trainers. This program is eligible for a maximum of 11 Category A hours. ATs should claim only those hours actually spent in the educational program.

This program eligible for a maximum of 4 Evidence Based Practice Category hours/CEUs. ATs should claim only those hours actually spent in the educational program.

Evidence Based Category hours will only be awarded to attendees who have their badges scanned for the session.

Certified Athletic Trainers may not claim Category A hours for EBP sessions.


Licensed Athletic Trainers may claim a maximum of 15 hours/CEUs towards TDLR license renewal requirements. LATs should claim only those hours actually spent in the educational program.

Texas LATs who need a certificate for concussion training will need to have their badges scanned for the 12:35pm - 1:35pm session on Saturday.
 

The SPATS program is appoved by theTexas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners for 15 CCUs for PTs and PTAs. Approval #70717

Seminar Concept

New concepts are always emerging especially in the healthcare field. Our seminar is dedicated to educating sports medicine professionals on the most recent evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitative techniques available. Sessions at this seminar will cover all 5 domains of athletic training: Injury/Illness Prevention and Wellness, Clinical Evaluation and Diagnosis, Immediate and Emergency Care, Treatment and Rehabilitation, and Organization and Professional Health and Well-Being. Educational sessions at this meeting are considered to be Essential/Advanced/Mastery level programming.

Educational Methods

Educational methods will include lectures, videos, and discussions. Participants may also be provided with presentation handouts that will be available online.

Target Audience

The primary audience for this seminar is athletic trainers. Physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, nurses, and other allied health professionals may benefit by attending.

The following cancellation policy will be in effect for SPATS:

  • Cancellations will be processed through the online registration system only

  • Cancellations processed up to May 27 will receive a 100% refund

  • Cancellations processed May 28 until the day before the start of the seminar will be refunded minus a $25 administration fee

  • Refunds will not be given once the seminar has started. It is the responsibility of the participant to cancel before the start of the seminar

  • Cancellation requests and refunds will be processed within 5 business days of the request.

  • Refunds will be given in the same manner they were received.

There is no paper form to fill out and mail in. All registrations must be done online. You may choose to pay by credit card or check. Payment in cash is only available onsite.

If you are going to be paying by check please make sure that you complete your online registration before the May 27 deadline to avoid the $25 late fee. You may bring your check and pay onsite without a penalty as long as your registration was completed before the deadline.
