The Valley Athletic Trainers Association has four standing committees mandated by the association’s constitution. There are also two committees which are not mandated. Committee members must be members in good standing with the association. Any VATA member interested in volunteering to serve on a committee may contact the chairperson(s) of that committee.

STANDING COMMITTEES

Scholarship Golf Tournament

The Scholarship Golf Tournament Committee is responsible for organizing the Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament. The tournament is held at the South Padre Island Golf Club and proceeds are used to fund four student athletic trainer scholarships, awarded every spring to Rio Grande Valley seniors.

The Student Affairs Committee is responsible for organizing the Annual Student Athletic Trainer Workshop. This committee also coordinates student athletic trainer scholarship applications.

 

Continuing Education

The Continuing Education Committee is responsible for organizing continuing education mini clinics, free of charge for members of VATA, throughout the school year. Mini clinics are held at various locations throughout the Valley.

The Historian Committee is responsible for documenting the history of VATA and any events sponsored by the association through photos and scrapbooks.

 

Corporate Sponsors

The Corporate Sponsors Committee is responsible for securing funds based on different sponsorship levels from Valley doctors, hospitals, and businesses. The money that is raised through these sponsors is used to fund events such as the Scholarship Golf Tournament, the Annual Student Athletic Trainer Workshop, and the mini CEU Clinics.
